Looking after Orthodontics in our Centrum clinic:

Orthodontics is a specialty field of dentistry which deals with malpositioned teeth of both children and adults. Apart from improving patient’s appearance and wellbeing, a correctly performed orthodontic treatment facilitates oral cavity hygiene, which, as a result, leads to the reduction of teeth loss and the improvement of teeth condition. What is more, dental treatment can eliminate some of speech defects, as well as reduce pain suffered due to the dysfunction of temporomandibular joints and postpone the processes of facial aging.

In the case of adult patients with missing teeth, orthodontics allows for the improvement of occlusion, after which it is possible to start a prosthetic or implantological treatment. Orthodontic treatment of children allows us to eliminate malocclusion and its resulting anomalies – speech defects, tooth decay, face bone structure abnormalities.

In orthodontics, malocclusion is treated with the use of dental braces. Depending on the type of malocclusion and the patient’s age, a doctor may recommend fixed or removable braces. The latter ones are mostly intended for children which started treatment during a mixed dentition stage. In some cases, removable braces may also be used for adult patients, who, however, are usually recommended to use more effective fixed braces.

We offer a wide selection of fixed braces with brackets made of:

  • porcelain
  • metal
  • composite
  • crystal

Different materials used for the production of brackets make braces more or less visible. We also offer braces without ligatures, which give better effects in shorter time. In all cases, the choice of braces depends on the patient’s expectations and budget.

Orthodontics – step by step procedure

Step 1

The first stage of treatment in our clinic involves a consultation with a specialist, during which our doctor asks patients about their expectations and needs related to future orthodontic treatment. Then, patients undergo diagnostic tests, after which an orthodontist presents an individual treatment plan with all costs, duration, and treatment stages.

Step 2

Stage 2 includes the start of treatment and the attachment of braces. During this appointment, the patient has braces put on and receives usage directives from the doctor.

Step 3

Next step involves check-up appointments. Patients with removable braces have check-up appointments on average once every 2-4 months. Patients with fixed braces have shorter breaks between appointments – 4 to 6 weeks.

Step 4

The treatment ends when expected effects are achieved. In case of fixed braces, after the treatment itself finishes, a retention treatment starts, aiming at preserving the final teeth positioning and preventing defect recurrence.
